This week's challenge: The next time you go to church or read a good article, take notes to review latter. It's not hard and the benefits are wonderful.

A Definition of Love
The dictionary says, "1a. An intense affectionate concern for another person. 1b. A passionate attraction for another person. 2. A beloved person. 3. A strong liking or enthusiasm for something." However, the Love Yehoshuah (Hebrew for Jesus) is, and the Love He talks about, is so much more. Let's take a look.
So many, including myself, have been betrayed by those who promised love, and after that it's hard to trust again. Love, they say, cures all, but to those of us whom it hurt to begin with, we have a more difficult time believing that. In time our hearts, after betrayals, become hard, and resistant not only to pain but to Love as well. I know you've been hurt we've all been, but I want to tell you about a Love that doesn't betray and won't let you down. I want to tell you about the Love of God.
You know we've got to make it through the stormy weather ... you know we've got to. We've got to find a way to live again. Right? We were made in God's image, and let me tell you that God's a conqueror, so that means we are conquerors as well. I know the feeling of another heartache, another day. I've been in the pouring rain wanting for love before ... it isn't fun. If only I knew then what I know now, and that is that Love was right there beside me the whole time. The whole time! I was dead in this world until I felt this truly awesome power known as the Love of Christ, and it is awesome!
The power of Love is what I needed, the same thing I feared. Alas, "Perfect love casts out fear" (1 John 4:18). Jesus came to me many times in the form of friends, strangers, preachers, family, and yes maybe even you, but I was hardened and not easily turned. However, in time Love broke the hard shell around my heart and showed me what true Love is, not was, is. I wish I could give you my new heart and eyes for just one minute so you could see and feel what I see and feel.
The Words' definition of Love has the dictionary screaming and running for cover in terms of a true definition. Here we go! 1. Yehoshuah is 100%, pure, undeniable, unbreakable, immortal, and finer than gold Love. 2. Christ said, "Greater Love hath no man than to lay down his life for his brother," and He laid down His life for us! 3. The Messiah had so much Love in His heart that He conquered Death so we could be with Him and He with us, which is the true meaning of real Love. It is forever. 4. Unlike the dictionary's description being that of, "A strong liking," our Savior has an unconquerable, even by death, Love for us. 5. His Love is not a clinging, nagging, demanding love; it's a Love that is freely given in such a way that it is more desirable than honey. 6.His Love never fades, and quenches all thirsts. 7. His Love is so strong that even though we've hurt Him ... He will always be there and always be Loving. 8. He is the finder of directionally challenged sheep, the searcher of missing coins, the embracer of foolish prodigal sons, founder of the department of lost and found, He is the King of the do over, the Lord of the second chance, He is our best Friend, He is Lord!
Forever. Love. Savior. You'll find the definitions of those three words to be the same. Thank you, Yahaweh (God), for forever being Love.
